Today, grain brokers play a multiplicity of roles: they provide advice to producers, ensure grain logistics, take part in the distribution of supplies, fund seeding programs and are also grain producers in their own fields or in association with other producers. This is accomplished through the Brokers Centers and Associations (Centros y Sociedades de Acopiadores) and the 950 grain brokers around the country that are part of the National Federation of Grain Brokers (Federación Nacional de Acopiadores de Granos), an organization founded in 1946.
